DTP
workflows
An organised workflow will reduce the amount of wasted time
spent looking for
files, locating the latest version, avoiding
duplicated versions, wasted disk
space, faster backups,
accurate
print ready artwork, flexible proofing solutions and accessible
information for
clients,
freelancers and new staff.
Workflows developed specifically for use in a design environment
for designers
and artworkers should include all or some of the
following:
Job codes and filenaming conventions, regular file management,
file servers,
ftp servers, asset management solutions (scans,
logos and document libraries),
actual picture replacement
(APR,OPI), pre-press checks, collect for output, pdfs, printing
and proofing,
remote access and proofing, font management,
templates, style guidelines, colour
management, automated
scripts, intranets, sign off procedures and backups.
As consultants we would be able to recommend, design and
implement a solution
that was specific to your requirements.
On completion, training and documentation
would
be provided
to ensure that the working practices were passed on to all staff
and freelancers.
